A very bushy form of the popular "Smoke Bush".
The leaves are smaller and rounder in shape than the typical Cotinus shrubs.
This wavy-edged foliage is deep purple in spring and summer before turning orange-red in autumn.
While it does produce some smokey plumes they are not a showy as those on the larger-leafed varieties. (Cotinus 'Grace' is the most spectacular.)
It forms a very colourful contrast to other shrubs, particularly those with silver foliage.
It usually is less than 2 metres in height.
