Cultivars produced by crossing Camellia japonica and Camellia saluenensis are known collectively as Camellia × williamsii.
This variety was produced by Prof. Waterhouse in Sydney in 1946.
It forms an upright shrub, to approximately 3 metres tall, with dark green foliage and pale pink, formal-double flowers up to 10cm in diameter
The upright bushy growth habit makes it one of the better camellias for hedging.
It has a long flowering period starting in early winter.
