This American Dogwood is one of the most spectacular spring flowering, small trees for cooler gardens.
As the plant matures it is covered with bracts that open dark pink, before fading to light pink. The bracts on younger plants may lack the pink colour for a few years.
The deep green foliage turns a dark maroon red in autumn.
Grows to approx. 5M.
Does not like to be exposed to hot drying winds. It performs best in a woodland-type situation.
