This lovely hybrid, originated as a cross between Magnolia soulangeana 'Lennei Alba' and Magnolia veitchii.
It is similar to Magnolia denudata, but smaller-growing with a later, longer flowering season.
The goblet-shaped flowers are white with a pink flush at the base of the outer petals.
It has light green to mid green leaves, to 20 cm long and 10 cm wide.
It forms an upright, deciduous tree and is spectacular when covered with masses of white flowers on bare stems.
