This most southern conifer is from Chile and is very rare in cultivation.
In its natural habitat it grows near water and tolerates humid climates, with almost constant rainfall.
In a garden, it is best grown with protection from hot afternoon sun and in cool moist soil where it will develop into an upright, narrow specimen.
We have found that it does extremely well in pots.
After 10 years it should be at least 2 metres tall.
