This is a small growing variety of the "Japanese Cedar".
It forms a very dense shrub with dark green, spirally-arranged, awl- shaped needles.
Initially it grows in a rounded shape, but becomes more conical with age.
The foliage takes on a coppery tint during the winter months.
Rounded cones can appear on very young plants.
It is an ideal conifer for pots or as a garden feature.
It is slow growing to less than 1.2M in the first 10 years.
