This is a sturdy dwarf variety of the popular "Norway Spruce".
The branches are very short and chunky.
The needles are also very short and a rich dark green colour.
The specimen in the photo is more than 10 years old.
It is an ideal spruce for bonsai with the chunky appearance of an old tree.
