This is a select form of the "Japanese Black Pine"..
It is much slower growing and has a more compact habit.
It has very dark green needles which are shorter than most of the varieties.
In winter, it produces short white candles.
It is an ideal pine for bonsai, small gardens, rockeries or patio pots.
As with most pine "wet feet"and too much shade are their worst enemies.
