Podocarpus alpinus is a native of Tasmania as is also called Podocarpus lawrencei.
There are two variants.
This one forms a compact upright shrub, while 'Blue Gem' is a spreading shrub with cascading branches.
Both have lovely deep blue, short needle-like foliage.
They respond very well to trimming and make a great small hedge or border plant.
They can also be used for topiary or bonsai.
A 10 year old plant would be approximately 1 metre in height.
