This is a very versatile conifer with attractive fine blue-gray foliage which may develop purple accents in winter.
It is best in full sun and can be grown as a specimen or as an informal border or even trimmed into a formal hedge.
It likes well-drained soil and will cope with low to moderate fertility.
It is highly tolerant of drought, heat, cold, and poor, rocky soils, but cannot tolerate soggy conditions.
It is fairly slow growing, reaching less than 2 metres in the first 10 years.
