The foliage of this cultivar of the "Californian or Coastal Redwood" is quite different to that of the parent plant.
The scale-like needles are tightly compressed against the twigs.
The new growth in spring and summer is white in colour.
It is quite slow growing and forms a shrub rather than a tree.
Regular pruning will encourage more of the white new growth.
Although it will grow in full sun, the white is more glowing in a shadier position.
It makes a very interesing pot plant.
