Commonly called the "Scots Pine".
The thick needles are a dark blue-green colour and fairly short in length, especially in the dwarf varieties.
The flaky bark exposes the shiny red trunk.
With selective pruning, an architectural form can be created.
Although developing into a large tree, it can be pruned and trained for a smaller garden.
Often used for bonsai.
