"Balsam Fir"
This beautiful fir grows in central and eastern Canada and north-west USA.
The light new green shoots make a lovely contrast to the dark green needles.
It is a tall growing tree in its natural habitat, but as it is quite slow growing, it can be used as a potted Christmas tree for many years.
It makes a beautiful specimen in a large garden or park.
