This is a beautiful tree which is usually tall and conical in shape, but can become rounded with age.
The light green, fern-like foliage turns a spectacular russet colour in autumn.
As the common name implies, it will tolerate wet conditions.
It is ideal around dams and ponds.
Mature plants may produce "Knees", which are strange protusions rising from the roots.
